Literacy Volunteers Charlottesville/Albemarle is an independent, non-profit organization that offers free, confidential, individualized basic literacy instruction to adults.
We’re real passionate about literacy, and we’ve been volunteering in this program for several years. We thought they deserved a nice web site, so we made them this one.
Here is what they wrote is recently:
“LV-C/A appreciates all the time you have spent managing our website. The program has evolved over the years and the one thing we really have going for us is a very attractive website. It attracts attention and new volunteers. I am doing a new tutor training session without publicity. People have contacted me because they have seen our website or got to our webpage from other sites. This is how it is done now, and it’s working. All those PSAs I previously used to announce trainings have not been working lately. This training session evolved because many people called because of our website and I certainly did not want to keep them waiting until the next regularly scheduled one which is three months away!”
